A Reflection on Writing

  • What type of writing do you typically do?

To begin with, I have to say that I’m not a big fan of writing. The type of writing that I enjoy the most is creative writing because it allows more freedom and time as opposed to strict format or rules in either academic writing or business writing. Having said that, I take memos or emails that I often write at work very seriously. Before writing, I think carefully about the objectives or the purpose of the message. After writing, I check everything to make sure there are no mistakes in spelling, grammar and vocabulary.

  • What do you think about writing? Do you enjoy it? Dread it?

To the best of my knowledge, writing is a process which includes brainstorming, organising, writing, revising and proofreading. It takes clear thinking, basic understanding of syntax, and patience to create a readable piece of writing. I am a perfectionist and a procastinator, so there’s only so much that I can do to get started.

  • What area of writing do you need to improve most?

I think I have to work on time planning, motivation and time management so that I can hit the ground running with confidence.

Welcome writing dreamers!

This piece of writing was from my first time joining a creative writing camp. This one was inspired from the whole journey.
“This is us. This is our future.
Rolling, running, screaming around
Reaching and catching and touching
Sweaty, itchy, dirty, top to toe

The rule of game we play
The ton of fun we chase
The fuel of energy we raise
Just say, seize the day!”
